Golden Blitz is lining up to feature two hard-to-get cards: Shutdown from Set 17 and Lenny Leonard from Set 18. If you are already planning your trades around the Monopoly Go Partners Event, it is worth checking your album now rather than scrambling once the timer appears. Both picks are five-star gold stickers. Lenny Leonard led the community vote, with Shutdown taking the other available slot. Hank Scorpio and Mr. Sparkle were in the running, but they will stay locked during this Blitz.

What is confirmed so far

The reported event date is July 22, 2026, using US Eastern Time, and it may continue into July 23 for players in other regions. A start near 1:00 p.m. ET has been discussed, though Monopoly Go can move event times around. Don't treat a social post as the starting gun. Check the Golden Blitz badge and countdown inside the game before sending anything. That little timer is the only thing that really matters.

Why these two cards matter

This one could get messy fast because neither featured card is a low-value gold. Five-star duplicates sit in your album doing nothing most of the time. Then Golden Blitz opens, and suddenly everybody wants them. A straight Shutdown-for-Lenny swap is the cleanest deal if each player needs the other card. Still, don't assume Lenny is automatically worth more just because it won the vote. Votes show interest, not how many spare copies are floating around. You'll probably see the market settle after the first wave of players gets online.

Get your trades ready

Before the event starts, take a minute to work out what you actually need. It sounds obvious, but people often trade away a useful duplicate for stars, then find out it could have completed a set. Keep your priorities simple.
  1. Save a trade for a sticker that completes a set.
  2. Check that you have a duplicate, not your only copy.
  3. Use the exchange feature when both players are sending cards.
  4. Hold back gold sends until your best deals are confirmed.
  5. Avoid waiting for the last few minutes, because your trade partner may be offline.
Spend your limited sends carefully

Golden Blitz normally gives players up to five sends for the selected gold cards, separate from regular daily trades. That's useful, but it's not unlimited. If you have a Wild Sticker, it usually makes more sense to use it on another locked gold rather than Shutdown or Lenny Leonard while this window is approaching. For players who need one of these cards, line up a fair exchange early, watch the live timer, and use Monopoly Go Partners Event buy resources only as part of a wider plan to finish the album instead of chasing every loud offer in chat.
